How bad is the crucifixion in 'Jesus of Nazareth' (the movie)?

In Australia, a country known for its sensitivity to violence, the uncut version is rated M, which is essentially the equivalent to a PG-13, so it can't be that bad. The edited version is G, which is pretty much the same as our G rating in the US. These factors lead me to believe this isn't on the level of The Passion of the Christ at all.
