I need help untangling this mess....?

i like this guy tristan who says he doesnt want a relationship cuz im so nice to him and he doestn wanna hurt me cuz his life is hard cuz hes been locked up hes done drugs and carries a gun on him hes so sweet and theres more to him and when i talk on the phone with other guys he gets upset when he said he wanted to just mess aroun without commitment. i like him like crazy but he also knows im still in love with my ex spencer, what should i do?
